The Physical Literacy Self-Description score is used to determine the child’s self-efficacy and how it relates to their involvement in physical activity. Self-efficacy refers to a person’s belief in their ability to succeed in any given situation.
Generally speaking, a person will tend to avoid situations where they have low self-efficacy. The Physical Literacy Self-Description score can help identify if a child has low self-efficacy with respect to physical activity. With this knowledge, the parent or coach can manage the issue.
